In this 3-hour introductory workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of glass beadmaking using a gas and oxygen-fueled torch and soft glass.
Topics covered include safety, tools and equipment, properties of glass, manipulation of glass with a focus on heat control, annealing and glass compatibility, and finishing beads. Students will be introduced to the use of heat and gravity to shape molten glass. Each student will make between 3-5 beads in this class. Ideas for turning your beads into finished jewelry will be discussed. No experience is necessary and all materials are included. Open to students 16 years of age and older.
